On the worst days of our lives, the staff at Inova provided us with the "best" experience we could have hoped for under the circumstances. Their support, care, and sympathy throughout all of this - from the moment we learned BBO no longer had a heartbeat, to the delivery process, collecting memories, and connecting us to so many resources - has been invaluable.

We are establishing a fundraiser in BBO's honor to support the Kennedy Fund (10325) which supports all things perinatal bereavement, including resources and memory making items. This fund also allows Inova to educate team members who want to be better versed in these scenarios. Through this fund, Inova educates not only new nursing graduates, but also those in the emergency department and post-surgical units to ensure they are providing the best care to families, particularly when the stillbirth is unexpected.
